It's okay. I have a shovel.

If you've been downtown, its no surprise that parking can be scarce...add to that three feet of snow in the past month, and we've got an even bigger headache.

When there are snow plowing operations the rules are on the EVEN days you park on the EVEN sides of the street, and  on the ODD days of the week, you park on the ODD side of the street.  Keep in mind that parking signs take precedence - meaning if its an EVEN day and there's a NO PARKING sign on the even side, you can't park there.  Make sense?

BUT THERE'S NO PLACE TO PARK!!!

Yes there is.  And its OFF THE STREET.

I bet you're wondering - WHERE?

I'm glad you asked.  That's why you came to this blog, right?  check this out - direct from the Milwauke Department of Public works:

When a "Snow operation" is declared, MPS desgnates many of their parking lots for public use.  There are some rules you must follow, of course.

So make sure CLICK HERE and bookmark the page, as they update it regularly.

Seriously.  They update that ish regularly.

Make sure you keep tabs on the CITY OF MILWAUKEE website and know that this stuff is subject to change.  Sucks to be at the mercy of the city, but they get to make the rules and we just have to hope they COMMUNICATE those rules to us and we can all get along.  Wouldn't that be nice?

Happy shoveling.  And remember - we're less than 30 days away from SPRING...It doesn't make it any easier, but there's light at the end of the tunnel.

Talk to you in the morning,

Riggs
