Come on guys, it's for charity!

Clay Matthews has been nominated for this season's Walter Payton Man of the Year Award. This is awarded to a player for excellence both on and off the field.

The prize for this award is actually really amazing. The winner will receive $500,000 to go to the charity of their choice. There will also be a social media competition where fans can TWEET using the hashtag #WPMOYChallenge plus "Matthews" or any other nominee. The player with the most mentions between Dec. 11th and Jan. 7th will claim an additional $25,000 to go to their charity choice.

Matthews' charity is CureDuchenne, which funds research to finding a cure for a severe and often fatal form of muscle disease called Duchenne muscular dystrophy. Matthews also supported CureDuchenne during his recent "My Cause, My Cleats" campaign. In the past Matthews has also worked with organizations such as Make-A-Wish, Hugs from Holly, the Jimmy V Foundation, as well as the Boys and Girls Clubs of America.
