Inappropriate Places to Say the Wrong Thing

Not just Grover on Sesame Street...

January 5, 2019

While you were enjoying your holidays, you may have missed the new Laurel vs Yanny debate. What everyone is reeling over is whether or not Grover on Sesame Street says, “yes, yes, that’s a f**king excellent idea!” or “yes, yes, that sounds like an excellent idea!”

Riggs and Gibbons are convinced that Grover is swearing on a kids program, where as Alley just doesn’t hear it. You hear what you want to hear, but watch the clip for yourself!

After watching this clip, we started wondering where the most inappropriate place we’ve said something inappropriate was. Turns out, there was no shortage of stories, one of us even admitted to swearing on the air.

Riggs (5:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.): "So, there was a time at Thanksgiving dinner when I was talking openly with my family, accidentally slipped the F-bomb in front of my grandparents. Wasn’t okay with them, incredibly awkward. They’re super conservative!”

Alley (5:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.): "Well, I’m pretty much inappropriate all the time, but most inappropriate probably when I’m screaming out profanities and I turn around and there’s a child there. Then I have to go, ‘oh hi’…”

Gibbons (5:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.): "The year was 2014 and your boy Gibbons flew across the country to be home with his family on Christmas, but they didn’t know. I walk in the door, literally kicked in my mom’s front door. I said, ‘I’m here bitches!’ and then my grandma, who’s very religious looked at me like, ‘Ryan, how dare you!’ She went to wash my mouth out with soap.”

JMatt (10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.): "Gosh, that has to be church! Hands down, church. You know old people are like super uptight when they hear swears especially in church. Yeah… I haven’t been welcomed back and I think my parents still pray for me.”

Kraig (2:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.): "I don’t swear anymore, I’m above it all. Seriously, I just don’t. But back in the day, I think I invented it and I swore on the air at a radio station. On a rock station, so it was, you know. But my sister’s kid – in other words, my nephew – was listening and then he repeated it right afterwards. My sister wasn’t a fan.”

DJ Gee-A (7:00 p.m. - 12:00 a.m.): "First thing that pops into my mind, I was in college and one of my guys – his mom had just died, like three days ago. And we were just in the pool room talking crazy, having a good time, cracking jokes and stuff. I said something to him, he said something back to me, and I said, ‘I’ll tell your momma you ain’t…’ and everybody was like, ‘woah!’ I was like, ‘my bad man, my bad, my bad.’ That’s like one of the worst things and I still feel bad about that because his mom had just died. So, if you’re listening, I’m still sorry about that!”
