Free Rides from Lyft and Milwaukee Warming Shelters

The United Way and Wisconsin 2-1-1 have partnered with Lyft to offer the community free rides to warming shelters in the Milwaukee area during the polar vortex. Use the code WIJAYDEN19, this code is valid for 2 rides up to $25 per ride until Friday, February 1 at 11:59 pm (CST).

The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Chill Warning for Southern Wisconsin until noon (CST) on Thursday, January 31, 2019. They have warned that frostbite can occur in as little as 5 minutes with wind chills dropping to as low as -45 to -55 degrees.

Several Milwaukee businesses are opening their doors as warming shelters to keep those in need warm during these frozen temperatures. 2-1-1 is providing a list of locations that you can visit.
