I remember watching reruns of the Twilight Zone on the Sci-Fi network as a kid, so when I discovered a series called 'Black Mirror' on Netflix a few years ago I was instantly hooked and eager for new episodes!

Now, if you've never watched this - I will say of the 19 episodes (if you count the special with Jon Hamm) there are two that miss the mark for me. Season 1, Episode 1 - "The National Anthem" - skip that entirely. It's just bizarre and has no redeeming qualities. It's especially rough considering that this is the intro episode to the series, I could see it turning people off to watching another episode. The other episode that just left me... disappointed(?) was Season 3, Episode 3 - "Shut Up and Dance". Luckily, each episode stands alone and doesn't carry over details from one to the next.

It's honestly tricky to pick a favorite for me, they're all great with twists you don't see coming and have an interesting take on where technology could be in the future. Some things I wouldn't mind, but like anything, it can easily get out of hand. Which brings in season 5!

"Smithereens" will be the first episode of the new season and between the official trailer for the overall season and this one for the episode it appears that one of the main characters snaps over the addiction of technology. I have a feeling if you're already weary of ride-sharing apps, you may be even more concerned after this episode. But like any trailer for this series, you can't really predict what will happen. There is a brief clip with Topher Grace and I can't wait to see what that's all about!

I heard rumors months ago that Miley Cyrus would be featured in an episode of season 5 and it looks like she will have a very prominent role! From the trailer, it looks like she's playing a role very similar to her current life, under the spotlight. But the technology angle is that there's a toy version of herself that you can purchase, especially great for lonely fans. By the end of the trailer, I'm curious is Miley's character gets somehow trapped within the machine. All I know is, I'll be watching "Rachel, Jack and Ashley, Too" first!

There are only 3 episodes coming to the new season, luckily we did get an interactive movie at the end of the year called Bandersnatch to hold us over (especially with previous seasons having as many as 6 new episodes). "Striking Vipers" appears to be a story of a couple trying to conceive a child while Anthony Mackie's (portrays Falcon in the Avengers movie series) character appears to be hiding a secret from his wife, hinting at infidelity. While the technology aspect isn't as glaring as it is in other episodes, I am ready to see what twist will come with this one!

If you're not feeling patient enough for the new season of 'Black Mirror' to arrive, don't worry, I share this eagerness with you! It may be the perfect time to sign up for a free 7-day trial of CBS All Access and watch Jordan Peele's 'Twilight Zone' Reboot! I was personally waiting until all 10 episodes came out and by May 30, you will be able to stream the entire first season!

It was also recently announced that the reboot of the Twilight Zone has been renewed for a second season!
