Meek Mill is a known advocate for criminal justice reform and founded the REFORM Alliance to support his mission. He recently proposed a bill in Pennsylvania to reform the probation and parole system by reducing probationary periods and minimize restrictions on technical violations. Which, as Billboard reported, was a reason he was sent back to jail in November 2017.

7. Ellie Goulding + Diplo ft. Swae Lee – Close To Me

K-Pop is understandably hot right now with a lot of attention around the boy band BTS; a few days ago, the K-Pop Girl Group, Red Velvet, dropped their remix with Ellie Goulding and Diplo. With their lyrics, they swap out Swae Lee’s part with boy Korean and English lyrics.

6. Lil Peep + ILoveMakonnen ft. Fall Out Boy – I’ve Been Waiting

Literally as I’m writing up this week’s Top 40 Trending chart, Fall Out Boy tweeted out a tease for an upcoming music video for “I’ve Been Waiting” which is coming this Wednesday! “brought @lilpeep’s world to life…” which is “based on an original idea from [Lil Peep>” – can’t wait to see what this concept!

5. Calboy – Envy Me

The Chicago based rapper told Genius in an interview that his first purchase after gaining his recent success was a new crib. In this interview, he also covered the inspiration that went into writing the hit song, “Envy Me”, which felt like a reflection of where he was at mentally, at the time.

4. Post Malone – Wow.

Post Malone is up for a whopping 17 nominations for the upcoming Billboard Music Awards! Among those nominations, he’s up for Top Artist, Top Male Artist, Top Rap Artist and so many more. The Billboard Music Awards will air on May 1st from Las Vegas and will be hosted by Kelly Clarkson!

2. Ava Max – Sweet But Psycho

My intern pointed out a fact about Ava Max to me last week that I – as a stereotypical guy – would have never noticed. Ava has a very distinct hairstyle and I can’t believe I never actually noticed it. Half of her hair is cut at about shoulder’s length and the other half is grown out. Seriously, consider my mind blown – I can’t unsee it!

1. Lil Nas X – Old Town Road

This country trap song is a huge hit over on the popular app, TikTok and was even briefly featured on the Country Charts before it was determined that the song ‘wasn’t country enough’. So, Billy Ray Cyrus hoped on a remix of the song to make it ‘more country’. Even Jake Owen revealed that he has a collaboration with Lil Nas X in the works!
