The day after Thanksgiving (Friday, November 23, 2018), a 'new bar' came to Walker's Point in Milwaukee. A Christmas Cocktail Pop Up being referred to as "Miracle on 2nd" will be in place at the Tin Widow until Christmas Eve (Monday, December 24, 2018) serving from a specialty menu with custom $12 cocktails to put you in the holiday spirits (pun intended). There are also $5 Nice & Naughty shots available (Nice Shot - rum, peppermint, chocolate OR Naughty Shot - bourbon, cinnamon).

My friend, Tia, tried the 'Jingle Balls Nog' (no, that's not a typo) and I tried 'And a Partridge in a Pear Tree' because I love a cocktail with egg whites (automatic choice maker for me). Taste aside, the best part was the festive glasses and mugs that the cocktails were served in, it was a well-rounded, complete experience!

As you could see from the menu above, there are several drinks worth trying! In fact, there are three more drinks that I'll be back to try on another visit - the 'Bad Santa' (because of rum), the 'Christmas Carol Barrel' (because of rum... but also it rhymes and I want to say it out loud!), and the 'Snowball Old Fashioned'!

Miracle on 2nd
As you can see, the entire bar of Tin Widow has been transformed into the holiday theme of Miracle on 2nd. It may surprise you to learn that Miracle is actually available across the US at pre-determined bars (check out all of the locations here) with a few outside of the country too.

According to Miracle's website, "The concept was born in 2014 when upon the advice of his mother, owner Greg Boehm decided to halt construction of what was to be his new East Village cocktail bar called Mace and transformed the unfinished space into a pop-up bar serving holiday-themed drinks among over-the-top Christmas decorations." The concept was such a hit that it has been expanding rapidly ever since.

The staff at Tin Widow left a message for their regulars at the bar that may be surprised by all the lights and Christmas trees throughout the bar, "...During this month's event, our normal menu has been replaced by a special group of cocktails we know you will enjoy. Please consult one of the Miracle menus spread throughout the bar for these special cocktails as well as information about glassware available for sale..."

If you love the holidays (and are 21 years of age or older), you need to check out this location before Christmas! I almost forgot to mention, aside from the aesthetics - they pumped a wide range of Christmas music (everything from rap to the classics). It's no question what the purpose of this pop-up bar is - to spread that holiday cheer!
