5 Gifts Guys ACTUALLY Want on Their Birthday (From You)

He’ll have no desire to return any of these gifts!

Alright, tomorrow is my birthday (June 26) and I always joke that in Milwaukee, Summerfest is my gift every year… a gift that I treat myself to because I love music that much. But let’s say you have a friend or family member that you need to get a gift for and we’re beyond the years where the gift is obvious (if it ever was), so what does he actually want?

Stop overthinking it! Unless you really know us… it’s hard to get excited about that truly unique, one-of-a-kind gift that you get from your kooky Aunt that you see once every few years. Sorry, but I don’t need the added hassle of figuring out what to do with that gift I can’t return because, where did you even get such a thing?!

Okay, but seriously, most gifts don’t have to take so much thought and effort (more power to you if that’s your thing, but you don’t need to read this list) – let’s stop buying ‘stuff’ that he may or may not actually get excited about, here’s what will definitely work:

1. CASH: Yeah, you might say cash takes zero thought. You’d be wrong, you got me the one thing I can exchange for anything I want or need. I have never been mad when someone hands me money. Thanks!

2. Free Meal: This could be taking me out for dinner, lunch, BRUNCH… maybe you’re a great chef and can make me something at home – done! Thank you!

3. Drinks: Okay, a meal might not work, but if you’re 21 and up, treat me to a shot or a drink – it’s cheap and we’re hanging out! Thanks!

4. Gas: There’s nothing exciting about filling up your car… but my Grandpa got me a gas card one year and I can tell you, I used that gift the same week! Thanks, Gramps!

5. Spending Time Together: Okay, you’re broke… that’s okay! You don’t need to break the bank on a guy (okay, most guys). Figure out something he enjoys doing and set time aside to do it with him. If he enjoys time away from you… well, he probably doesn’t need a gift from you anyways!

It’s that simple… no need to Google it, because believe me, you’d think it would be helpful but it just takes you to websites with random gifts… from the same store your Aunt probably got that one gift for you that you can’t figure out how to return!

Fellas, how accurate was this list? Everyone else, is there another easy and obvious gift that should be added to this list? Hit me up on social media at @JMattMke (same handle on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Snapchat, and TikTok)!
